In a shocking incident in Mumbai’s Powai area, police rescued 17 children who were allegedly held hostage by a man inside a film studio on Thursday. Mumbai Police Rescue Children. The dramatic rescue took place at Ra Studio, located in the Mahavir Classik building.
According to officials, the children, aged 10 to 12 years, had come to the studio for an audition when a man named Rohit Arya suddenly locked them inside. The police were called immediately after the incident.
A senior police officer said that the police team broke open the grill at the back of the studio to reach the children. “The police had to fire one bullet during the rescue operation. When Mumbai Police Rescue Children, the bullet hit Rohit Arya, and he was injured. He was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment,” the officer said.
All Children Safe and Reunited with Parents
Joint Commissioner of Police Satya Narayan Chaudhary confirmed that all the children were safe. “All 17 children have been rescued and are safe with their parents. We are investigating the case further,” he said.
Police said that Rohit Arya had been visiting the studio for the last four to five days. On Thursday afternoon, he allegedly locked the children in a room and recorded a video message. In the video, he said, “Mujhe kuch logon se baat karni hai, main Rohit Arya hoon” (I want to talk to some people. I am Rohit Arya). He also threatened to set the studio on fire and harm himself. The children if he was not allowed to speak to certain people.
After receiving the call, the Mumbai Police rushed to the spot. They entered through the back side of the building after breaking the grill and managed to rescue all the children safely. “One police officer fired a bullet that hit Arya. The children were safely taken out and handed over to their parents,” another official said.
Police are now trying to find out more about Rohit Arya’s background and the reason behind his actions. Officers are recording statements from people present in the studio and nearby areas.
